Though, hard to put your finger on, it's flavored with 60's and 70's Rock-n- Roll guitar styles, spattered with Funky Folk mandolin riffs and tight Country harmonies. It's stories of life growing up "The Finnish Way" surrounded by music and the love of family. The songs are written by Dave Takanen, a first generation grandson of Finnish immigrants who (with fellow countrymen) came to Minnesota's "Iron Range" and "The U.P." of Michigan in the early 1900's to escape induction into the Russian army and the low wages and unemployment of their native Finland.
